Another Morning Cup Of Coffee “News”

Just My Thoughts This Morning

By Dannie McIntire

DECEMBER 24, 2022

I needed a strong cup of coffee this morning after reading that a woman in Florida has filed suit against Kraft because their product, “Velveeta Shells and Cheese”, takes longer to prepare than the time of 3 ½ minutes which is printed on the package directions.

If you wonder why the court systems are so backed up, the above is a prime example of “judicial nonsense” clogging the justice pipeline.

This is just my opinion, but perhaps Kraft should change their package labeling to read; “Most people in the US have an IQ between 85 and 115, if you fall below this range it may take longer than 3 ½ minutes to fix our product”.

Another cup of coffee, let’s talk about local craft shows which I’m sure many readers have visited this Christmas season. Up until the Covid Pandemic my wife and I did crafts for the Christmas season, participating in craft t shows run by our local schools PTO’s and churches. These institutions use the revenue generated by the booth fees to fund part of their annual expenditures.

Yes, many of the local craft vendors are part of the “black market” economy; retired folks who make a little extra money to boost their retirement income, some are young entrepreneurs’ “helping out with the family finances”. Admittedly, the majority in this “black market” do not always report all they make when they file their taxes, the money is “small potatoes” but essential to them.

Well, now the democrats are coming after those dollars. Democrats made the change in March 2021, when they passed the American Rescue Plan.

Keep in mind, it’s not that these small vendors don’t pay any taxes, most states have a sales tax on the materials these vendors buy to make their crafts, so essence some tax is being paid to the state.

Starting with the 2023 tax filing year, all app payment systems are being required to issue those using their app payment system to be issued a Form 1099-K to report payments received that total over $600 on an annual basis.

The payment apps previously were required to issue a Form 1099-K to users who generated over $20,000 in sales or more than 200 transactions in a year.

Do you sell items your family no longer needs, things your children have outgrown, if you use any app for payment, if you sell over $600 in a year you’ll owe the IRS.

If you recall President Biden saying the IRS would not be coming for “the little guy”, well guess what, the IRS is knocking on the little guy’s door starting in 2023.

It’s time for one last cup of coffee.

I read an article this week saying that many generation Z parents are not allowing their young children to believe in dear old Santa, believing that when their children learn the “truth” it will be too much of a traumatic experience for them.

A parent in the article was quoted as saying it put too much pressure on a child to be good. Yep, having to be good as a child in anticipation of Santa coming is sure to traumatize your childhood.

I wonder how many of these parents will be putting X-Boxes and violent video games in their child’s stockings while worrying that believing in the good of Santa will affect their child negatively?

As a child I grew up believing in Santa Claus; heck I still believe in the spirit of Santa Claus…geez…is it just me…let your child have a childhood….they’ll be faced with the reality of life soon enough.

  1. I can’t figure this Column out.
It’s a lot of bark about this. Bark about that. Bark, bark, bark!

Then, at the end of this barking, he seems to be saying
“Do not go after the little guy. I am a little guy. Go after the big guy, the billionaires.”

    • I didn’t get your “seems to” from this column at all. What I got was the obvious… Biden lied. Again.

      Good column, Dannie.

      • No Victory. You are wrong.
That is exactly what the “Don’t tax me, tax the rich” mantra is about. We don’t have Police without taxes, soliders and firemen either. We all have to pay.

        The Biden thing? What?
Putin is weaker than ever before, perhaps on the verge of being driven from office. I am no Biden fan, but that didn’t happen during the terms of the President’s before him. There is no denying Putin is weaker than ever in his lifetime.

    • YES.

NORMAN CLATURE is right. “American Jack Clark” should be “filtered.”

      Why?
      Because of defamatory language? No.
Instead, because there has been a precedent to “Filter-Out Dissenting Opinions” by those who cannot stand to hear dissent, i.e., those who WANT to have their own “echo-chamber.”

If that is the CCO (it would be within its rights, this CCO is privately owned)? Then by all means. FILTER OUT American Jack Clark.
