AG Hill Congratulates Incoming Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch

INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill today released the following statement:

“I want to congratulate incoming Justice Neil Gorsuch on his confirmation today to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“During my campaign for Attorney General in 2016, I consistently reminded Hoosiers of the importance of the Supreme Court in the constitutional balance of power. I reminded them, too, that the 2016 elections would have enormous impact upon the makeup of the Supreme Court for generations. Finally, I emphasized that the Court’s decisions would greatly influence Indiana’s ability to avoid the federal overreach that too often has usurped our state’s rightful authority and decision-making.

“Judge Gorsuch’s record indicates that he will continue to follow the law and the Constitution rather than ideology and personal preferences. The true value of his appointment to the Court will become even clearer in years to follow.”
