The infrastructure work being done on Riverside Dr between Shawnee and Cherry is impacting the commute in and out of downtown Evansville.
Although there is a detour around the work sight, drivers are strongly encouraged to completely avoid the area until the project is complete, which is expected to be next week.
Alternate routes in and out of Downtown include Lloyd Expressway, Walnut Ave, Lincoln Ave, and Washington Ave.
The complete closure of all traffic lanes is being done in an effort to keep the project workers safe. Using the alternate routes will decrease your commute time and help alleviate the traffic congestion near the work sight.
