This is not the first time I have heard this scenario, ie we are having a baby so we have to get rid of our fill-in-the-blank (dog, cat, rabbit, turtle etc). Not sure why this is even thought of or in any way acceptable. Maybe these people should not be parents to human children. They obviously dumped their “fur child” when something new and different came along. Does the first child go when the second child is expected? What happened to love and commitment. Oh I forgot. Those things are just as easy to ditch. This mentality makes me very angry indeed.
