ACKERMAN SHINES AS OTTERS BEAT THE WILD THINGS

 Hunter Ackerman shined on the rubber as the Evansville Otters took down the Washington Wild Things 4-2. Ackerman pitched for seven and two-third innings allowing six hits, two runs, and had ten strike outs on the night. With the win Ackerman moved to 4-4 on the season. For the Wild Things, Sam Agnew-Wieland started on the mound. Agnew-Wieland pitched for four and one-third innings, allowing five hits, four runs, and moved to two and three on the season.

The Otters took an early first inning lead after Josh Allen hit his eighth home run on the season. In the second the Otters took a two to zero lead when Kaeo Aliviado scored Chris Breen with a single. The Wild Things would tie the game in the top of the fourth when David Popkins knocked in Ricky Rodriguez and then Logan Uxa knocked Popkins in. In the fifth the Otters took the lead to make it 4-2. Nik Balog would bring in two runs with his double. In the ninth the Otters would bring in Randy McCurry to shut the Wild Things down two nights in a row. With the save, McCurry only needs one more to receive his 20th of the season.
