UE heads to Monroe, La. next weekend
 EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Miami University recorded 13 runs on 12 hits to pick up a 13-0 win over the University of Evansville softball team on Monday at Tri-State Orthopaedics Field at James and Dorothy Cooper Stadium.
Miami Ohio wasted no time in getting on the board, plating two runs in the first on a home run by Karli Spaid. In the second, MU added a second run when Jenna Golembiewski had an RBI double to right center.
Evansville had its first baserunner in the third when Keghan Pye was hit by a pitch. Marah Wood reached on an infield single in the bottom of the fourth, but neither could cross the plate.
In the top half of the fifth, the RedHawks erupted for 10 runs to put the game out of reach. MU pitcher Addy Jarvis held the Purple Aces to just one hit in the 5-inning shutout. Mikayla Jolly took the loss. She allowed three runs in two innings of work.
