Maybe they were right.
Then again, only half of all Americans can name all three branches of the federal government.
And over twice as many people know Paula Abdul was a judge on American Idol than know that the phrase “government of the people, by the people, for the people” comes from Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.
I guess more pertinent is that probably not a single American polled regarding the economy is an economist.
