Eric Jamison was named Green River Kiwanis’ 2014 Firefighter of the Year. Jamison is a 17½ year veteran and Captain on the department. Eric is very active in promoting physical fitness among the department. He organizes teams to participate in (and runs) many marathon type of events, jungle runs and steeplechases with obstacle courses. Eric also actively supports Easter Seals & MDA.
Eric is married to (Stephanie) and has 2 children, Hannah and Sophia.
Eric received a wall plague from Kiwanis, a $100 gift card from Mulzer Crushed Stone and Evansville Firefighters Federal Credit Union (each), and a custom ring from Firefighters Local 357. The Green River Kiwanis will also erect a billboard with his picture proclaiming his accomplishment. The billboard, courtesy of Lamar Advertising, will be at a location and date to be determined. Jamison was just one of three nominees for this year’s award. Jamison is the 34th recipient of this annual award.
