BREAKING NEWS-CITY FIREMAN RECEIVES SUSPENSION

14

EFDReliable sources has just informed the City County Observer that Evansville Fire Chief,  Mike Connelly has given fellow firefighter Edward David Parker a 3 day suspension without pay for an alleged Battery of Public Safety Official, Resisting  of Law Enforcement, interfering with firefighters during the recent Inland Marina fire.

Mr. Parker has been bonded out of jail and no formal court dates have been set to hear his case.

This is a developing story and we shall update as information is made public.

    • Little Al lied about his drinking. Only those with a problem lie about their drinking. Remember when little Al said, I didn’t know my Mountain Dew had alcohol in it. Parker really received some light punishment, in a private business both of them would have been fired. Democrats in the public sector get a lot of breaks.

      • Stop it with your victim card. It’s really pathetic. Republicans never get sweetheart treatment? I’ll agree with you on one thing, no adult doesn’t know if their drink has booze in it or not. Lindsey was full of shit on that one. He shouldn’t have been drinking on duty or abusing his leave or however you want to frame it.

  1. Who didn’t see this coming? I wonder if he will appeal the fire chiefs recommendation and who sits on the appeal board or committee?

  2. the drunkard should be fired……..and serve time………what a disgrace……..

    • Sharpie is not only without sin, he was there and witnessed the whole incident.

      • Not only that, serve time? Come on. I’d like to hear how severe the alleged assault was. Cops have a tendency to embellish those things. He probably has no criminal record and I’d say serving time would be out of the ordinary. After all, we need all the room in prison we can get for those dangerous pot smokers.

  3. I think if I was Parker I would say okay and thank you. I am sure that his mother in law wants this whole thing over with.

  4. I SEE A FREUDIAN SLIP!!!!. See first sentence of this article. City Council observer. CLASSIC!

Thanks for the heads up concerning our Freudian slip. It was indeed funny.
    Thanks

    • Very true since a good portion of CCO content comes down the pipeling directly from three city council members.

    • That’s not a Freudian Slip. City Council is contained with the City of Evansville. The City County Observer is a “watchdog” of the city and county. It would take more to qualify as a Freudian Slip or parapraxis. Something like City Council Obsequious might do it, but it still falls short given the CCO’s dislike of certain members. Also, there’s really no such thing as a Freudian Slip. It was certainly not a phenomenon created by Freud. It exists primarily in pop culture. “Yao” on the other hand has distinct meaning and is Chinese for cave dweller.

  5. The reported assault on a Firefighter in the performance of his Duty by another Firefighter apparently has some basis of Fact, or the Fire Chief would not have taken this action. I believe Mr. Parker’s actions are disturbing, and I await the Facts concerning the incident to come out. The Fire Merit Commission will certainly have this assault report on their plate at some point. The Commission has 5 Members,–The Mayor has 1 appointment, the City Council 2 appointments and the Firefighters have 2 (as required 1 from each political party)representing them.

    • Thank you Crash LaRue for that information. That tells me what I wanted to know. A 3 to 1 advantage for the conservatives on the commission maybe. Still I wonder how things might have been different if alcohol had not been involved? I also wonder where the Rieckens were when they consumed the Alcohol. I heard a “RUMOR” that they might have been at the Franklin Street Pub Crawl but that maybe just that a rumor.

The timing of the fire was unfortunate.
