Evansville, IN — Reitz Memorial High School is pleased to announce that Megan Poulsen has
been named the new Director of Track & Field for both the boys’ and girls’ programs. Poulsen will
continue to serve as the school’s Director of Cross Country, overseeing both programs moving
forward.
Coach Poulsen has been a vital part of the Memorial Athletics community and brings continuity,
experience, and proven leadership to the Tigers’ distance and track programs. Her expanded role
reflects Memorial’s confidence in her ability to lead, develop, and grow both programs with a
unified vision.
Prior to her appointment as Director of Cross Country, Coach Poulsen served as an assistant
coach for cross country and as a distance coach for the track & field program. She has quickly
established herself as a respected leader among student-athletes and fellow coaches alike.
During the 2025 cross country season, Coach Poulsen was recognized for her outstanding
leadership by being named Southern Indiana Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, an honor that
highlights her impact on Memorial’s cross country program and the success of her
student-athletes.
Coach Poulsen is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana, where she competed in cross
country as well as indoor and outdoor track & field. During her collegiate career, she earned
multiple Academic All-GLVC honors and competed in events ranging from the mile to the 10,000
meters, bringing both competitive experience and academic excellence to her coaching philosophy.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue serving Memorial in an expanded role,

Coach Poulsen.
“I have a deep passion for both cross country and track & field, and I’m excited to
work with our athletes as we continue building strong programs rooted in discipline, growth, and
teamwork.
”
Reitz Memorial High School Athletic Director Chad Dockery expressed confidence in the decision,
noting that Coach Poulsen’s leadership and vision will benefit the entire track and field program.

relationships with our student-athletes,
