INDIANAPOLIS – Today, Governor Mike Braun sat down with One Southern Indiana (the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Organization for Clark, Floyd, and Scott Counties) in New Albany for a wide-ranging discussion about economic development, workforce development, infrastructure, logistics, and supporting small business. Governor Braun discussed his work to help Hoosier businesses grow, create new job opportunities, and increase wages for Hoosier workers.
Governor Braun also met with local officials and business leaders to discuss the JeffBoat Redevelopment plan, a project supported in part through a READI 2.0 investment to create a mixed-use lifestyle center incorporating new residential units, retail shopping, riverfront dining, office and entertainment space as well as public amenities on the Ohio River. Private investment of at least $150,000,000 is expected within the next ten years, with 1,750 Hoosier jobs anticipated.
“Indiana’ s economy is growing, and today I affirmed my commitment to growing wages and job opportunities with One Southern Indiana in New Albany, then shared one of the projects that will bring millions in private investment and nearly 2,000 jobs: the JeffBoat Redevelopment in Jeffersonville. Indiana is partnering with our regions to maximize return-on-investment for their unique assets and skills.” — Governor Mike Braun
