CARBONDALE, Ill.—Freshmen Ben Perulfi, Wylee Kippenbrock and Carson Brown placed sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively, to lead University of Southern Indiana Men’s Cross Country to a second place finish at the SIU Oscar Moore Invitational Friday evening in Carbondale, Illinois.
Perulfi posted an eight-kilometer time of 25 minutes, 27.85 seconds, while Kippenbrock and Brown completed the course with respective times of 25:29.63 and 15:31.01.
The Screaming Eagles finished with 42 points in the four-team field, while host Southern Illinois was first with 23 points.
Junior Eli Mojonnier and freshman Brady Tremayne were 10th and 11th, respectively, to aid the Screaming Eagles, while sophomores Andrew Smith and Zach Wells were 13th and 15th, respectively, to round out USI’s top seven.
USI returns to action next Friday (September 26) when it competes at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri.
