Protecting Indiana from Foreign Adversaries

That’s why Senate Republicans have passed laws in recent years to better protect Hoosiers from our nation’s adversaries.

These previous efforts include requiring the Indiana Public Retirement System to divest from China, and prohibiting agricultural land from being purchased by a citizen or business from a foreign adversary.

This year, I supported additional measures to continue those efforts to protect Hoosiers like:

• Prohibiting companies from foreign adversaries from building data centers in Indiana unless all the power used for the data center is self-generated;
• Stopping the Indiana Economic Development Corporation from establishing offices in foreign adversary countries; and
• Banning foreign nationals of any country from directly or indirectly contributing money in order to influence a ballot question in Indiana.

As our adversaries continue to find ways to harm Americans, we must work to ensure their efforts fail in order to protect our families.

I will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure our state and nation are protected from those who wish to do us harm.
