Evansville Police are looking for the suspsects that were involved in a shooting near the intersection of Adams and Kentucky at 1:45 Friday morning.
The victim, 39 year old Burt Bender, was shot once in the abdomen. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
Bender, who is white, told investigators he was walking home from a friends house when a red Pontiac passenger car pulled up and the occupants began yelling at him. Bender said the men in the car were black and that they yelled several racial slurs at him. The car drove around the block and pulled up to him again. The occupants yelled at him again and then one of the men shot him.
