Kate Petrova holds the lead at Braun Intercollegiate

Final round set for Tuesday

 EVANSVILLE, Ind. – With an even score of 72, University of Evansville’s Kate Petrova holds the individual lead at the Braun Intercollegiate.

Petrova completed Monday’s opening 18 holes with an even mark at 72 at Oak Meadow Country Club.  She is two strokes ahead of four players who are tied for second place.

Finishing the day at 2-over was Mallory Russell.  Her score of 74 has the redshirt senior in a tie for third place, just two off the pace of Petrova.  She is tied with three others for the runner-up position.  One behind her was Louise Standtke.  The freshman carded a 3-over 75 and is tied for 7th.

Izzy Steele and Trinity Dubbs completed Evansville’s “A” team.  Steele posted an 84 while Dubbs checked in with an 86.

Evansville’s “B” team was led by the duo of Elizabeth Mercer and Jane Grankina.  Mercer finished the round with an 80 while Grankina was one behind with an 81.  Destynie Sheridan completed the day with an 85 Adeline Wittmer and Mia Cruz posted rounds of 95 and 97, respectively.

Indiana State holds the lead in the team standings with a 301.  They are four strokes ahead of the Purple Aces entering Tuesday’s final round.  Purdue Fort Wayne is in third, two shots behind UE.
