EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Senior Brady Terry raced to a second-place finish out of 233 competitors to lead University of Southern Indiana Men’s Cross Country to a third-place finish at the Angel Mounds Invitational Friday morning at Angel Mounds State Historical Site.

Brady finished the eight-kilometer course in 24 minutes, 10.5 seconds, less than three-seconds back of the winning pace set by Bellarmine University junior Chase Atkins.

His effort landed the Screaming Eagles with 74 team points, just five off second-place Lipscomb University and nearly 20 points in front of fourth-place Southeast Missouri State University. Bellarmine was first in the 16-team field.

Sophomore Alex Nolan aided the Eagles with a ninth-place finish, while fellow classmate Isaac Stanford was 22nd.

Rounding out the top five USI finishers was sophomore Cole Hess and freshman Layden Wagoner, who were 28th and 29th, respectively. Sophomores Landen Swiney and Jackson Collman were 33rd and 36th, respectively, to wrap up the Eagles’ scorers.

In total, the Eagles had 10 of the top 50 finishers, with freshman Holden Hough placing 43rd, while sophomore Tyler Zimmerman and senior Joshua Myers were 49th and 50th, respectively.

USI finishes year three of the NCAA Division I transition when it competes at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships November 1 in Martin, Tennessee. The women’s 6K is slated for a 9 a.m. start, followed by the men’s 8K.
