The National Theatre on Ice Competition is set to take center stage at the Ford Center in Evansville from June 25-29, 2024. Hosted by the Greater Evansville Figure Skating Club, this event will feature skaters from across the nation, blending the elegance of figure skating with the excitement of theatrical performance. “We are thrilled to introduce Evansville to skaters from across the country and showcase the artistry and talents of the teams participating,” says Kelli Mann, President of the Greater Evansville Figure Skating Club.
The competition, which runs through Saturday, June 29th, will be held at the Ford Center, welcoming teams and individual skaters of all ages. Theatre on Ice, also known as “ballet on ice,” consists of two programs: the free skate and the choreographic exercise with programs evaluated on technical merit and presentation with an emphasis on originality, artistry and musicality.
Supported in part by Explore Evansville, the 2024 National Theater on Ice competition is expected to have a substantial economic impact on the city, attracting nearly 6,000 athletes and spectators and generating approximately $2.4m in direct economic benefits.
