USI MAC/Pace Galleries presenting 2024 Efroymson Bridge Year Fellowship

0

The Efroymson Bridge Year Fellowship Exhibition, Apokálypsis, is currently on display at the McCutchan Art Center/Pace (MAC/Pace) Galleries in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center on campus. The show will be on display through Friday, February 16 and is open to the public at no charge.

Austin Delano, the 2024 recipient of the Fellowship, is the featured artist for Apokálypsis. Delano’s work grows from a desire to combine well-crafted utilitarian objects with a range of narrative and conceptual themes through a variety of techniques. These techniques include traditional joinery, carving, woodcut illustration and more. These pieces are inspired by a fascination with all manner of representations of meaning or purpose such as human relationships, nature, history, mythology, folklore and ritual.

A public reception for the exhibition will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 24 in the MAC/Pace Galleries.

The Efroymson Bridge Year Fellowship is a competitive program awarded to one graduating senior or recent alum from USI’s Art and Design Department annually. The goal of the Efroymson Bridge Year Fellowship is to fund a post-undergraduate year, allowing the recipient to focus on their studio practice to expand their artistic vision and enhance their portfolio, to gain maturity as an art maker and to successfully gain entrance to graduate school in their area of expertise.

The MAC/PACE Galleries are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
