October 31, 1902 Wilbur Shaw, American auto racer,  the second three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 (Indianapolis 500 1937, 39, 40), born in Shelbyville.

November 1, 1926 Betsy Palmer [Patricia Betsy Hrunek], American actress (Mr Roberts, Friday the 13th), born in East Chicago

November 2, 1920  Mrs. Anna D. Monroe became the first woman to cast a vote in Indiana after the passage of the 19th Amendment.  On that day she was joined by 500,000 other women at the polls across the state.

November 4, 1884 Thomas Hendricks, former Indiana Governor, was elected Vice-President of the United States under Grover Cleveland. He died in office a year later.
