PADUCAH, Ky. – University of Southern Indiana Women’s Golf placed 11th at The Velvet with a three-round 1013 (333-327-353). The tournament was hosted by Murray State University at the Country Club of Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky.
USI was 11th after the first day of competition, shooting a 333 in the first round and a 327 in round two. On Tuesday, USI maintained its position after a third-round 353.

Belmont University won the tournament, passing host Murray State down the stretch. Belmont shot a 54-hole 921 (312-298-311). The Bruins shot four strokes better than the Racers in Tuesday’s final round.

USI senior Haylee Exline (Poseyville, Indiana) led USI by placing tied for 43rd with a three-round 248 (80-79-89), including a team-best 79 in the second round after holing three birdies during Monday afternoon’s swing.

Senior Halle Gutwein (DeMotte, Indiana) was second on the Eagles with a 54-hole 253 (85-80-88), finishing two strokes ahead of fellow senior teammate Katelyn Sayyalinh (Rockford, Illinois) with a three-round 255 (81-89-85). The two were T-54 and 57th, respectively.

The Eagles will be back on the course this weekend, September 23-24, in The Roseann Schwartz Invitational, hosted by Youngstown State University at the Mill Creek Golf Club in Ostrander, Ohio.
