With the support of Vanderburgh County Council, the Vanderburgh County Commissioners were proud to award United Way of Southwestern Indiana with $25,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds.

To respond to the public health emergency impact with respect to COVID-19 and its negative economic impacts, Vanderburgh County appropriated funds to non-profit organizations whose missions focus on arts, culture, and educational initiatives benefiting the County’s residents.

Founded in 1922, United Way of Southwestern Indiana connects people to people, needs to
resources, experts to advocates, and commitments to action through their mission to “unite
resources to understand and address priority issues.” United Way envisions communities where all individuals and families have the opportunity to achieve their full potential. The nonprofit organization serves at the center of a network of partners and programs that are working to improve the upward mobility of low-income and disadvantaged individuals and families in Vanderburgh, Warrick, and Spencer Counties.
