  1. I remember when the project manager, John Kish stood in front of the cameras at the grand opening and stated this facility will pay for itself from day one. I hate to call someone a liar but the results speak for themselves.

    • There’s a large green field off of Boeke and Franklin that would be an excellent site for a large stadium that people would enjoy attending events at, especially if there was great parking within walking distance. The money guzzler downtown has a name, the Weinzaphel Ford Folly, so maybe we could name the better stadium after a different mayor, eh? Say, maybe, Lloyd or McDonald or even Roberts? Yes, Weinzaphel and his sycophants have left a heavy burden around the pocketbooks of Evansville taxpayers and their children’s grand children.

  2. It is an embarrassment that a city of a budget of $480 million of annual revenue, has to sell street names, because they don’t have the money required to provide maintenance for the Ford Center. They have had 11 years to plan for this issue. This is an embarrassment. So I guess we will be driving down Winnecke Way, and Doubletree Hotel Blvd? I was at City Council and Michael Daugherty stood up and asked questions about bonds and not one city council member knew the answers. How is that possible? A candidate knows more than our elected financial body?

    • I totally agree with you Ryan! I don’t understand how Evansville can start new projects from scratch and not have enough money to take care of the things we have. I thought this administration was smarter than that, but I guess I was wrong.

  3. At what point is the current administration going to be held accountable? Next step after naming street signs, a Go Fund Me page

    • If Michael Daugherty wins, the current administration will be held accountable. Otherwise, Winnecke will control all information and everything will be deleted.

  4. The current city administration, including the mayor as well as city Council needs to be investigated at the highest level for mismanagement of funds

  5. Paying for a street to be renamed in “your name/business ” is “pure vanity”. Im sure some will “bite” on it. Follow the money. We do it for license plates and it seems to work. Who will take the bait?

  6. Did City Council rep Zach Heronemus says the area enjoys hotel and restaurant revenue from the Ford Center. Im sure it does. My question: How much of the revenue/profit they enjoy is filtered back the Ford Center….the real source of their bounty? The mayors 12 years in office was good at spending but I agree with Missy Mosby, maintenance should be included in any project cost, a budget item. Winnecke left the parks to face near ruin by he and Schaefers policy “look the other way” and/or failing to fight for maintenance dollars. How many who profit from the thousands attending Ford Center events “give back” to the source of their good fortune? If the are not, they should.

  7. Fiscal irresponsibility on the part of all 6 folks who voted affirmative for this. I don’t live in city of Evansville proper, but close by. This will eventually lead to a default for the city of Evansville and these 6 will be the culprits but they’ll be gone by then. I’d like to reason they do not understand what they just did. Ask them what consultants who dreamed this up are involved and how much handling fees are those consultants getting for helping the transaction happen.

  8. I agree with all the above, and further believe we need financially responsible leadership in this city. Cheryl Musgrave should be elected to the Mayor’s seat.
