On August 23rd, around 3:30 p.m., Evansville Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1600 block of E Michigan St. for a female who had been stabbed. Officers arrived and located an adult female victim with stab wounds inside the residence. The victim was transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, the victim passed away at the hospital.Â
Officers also located an adult male and two small children inside the residence. They were all unharmed. The male was identified as the suspect, 27-year-old Fenel Germain. Germain was transported to EPD Headquarters for an interview with detectives. Through the investigation, it was determined that Germain and the victim were married and the two children inside the residence belonged to them. Germain and the victim were verbally arguing and it turned into a physical altercation. Germain stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife.Â
The victim’s identity will be released by the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office at a later time.Â
