LETTER TO EDITOR: By Stephanie Terry-Vanderburgh County Council Member And Candidate For Mayor Of Evansville

I am a fierce advocate for education and I love kids. One of the best parts of being the Executive Director of the Children’s Museum of Evansville is seeing the creativity and curiosity light up in the children who come through those doors.

In my experience working with young people, I have seen firsthand the difference a quality education can make in a young person’s life.

We need to place the necessary supports around our kids so they can thrive, including neighborhood-level cradle-to-career systems to provide children with the health, social, and educational support they need from birth through college and career. By working together, we can break the cycle of poverty by helping children effectively learn, grow, and succeed.

As Mayor, I will be a convener who gathers all stakeholders together to help our kids advance. Education will always be a top priority for my administration and I look forward to working with you to make Evansville a place that works for all of our children.
