USI Art Club group show on exhibit at New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art

USI’s BG Projects at New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art (NHGCA) is proud to present Hodge Podge, a group show demonstrating the diversity and range of artmaking by USI Art Club members.

USI Romain College of Business presentation to address market outlook and building student wealth

The USI Romain College of Business will present “Market Outlook and Building Wealth as a Student” with Ross Mayfield, Baird Private Wealth Management Investment Strategist, at 4 p.m. Tuesday, February 7. The presentation will take place in the Business and Engineering Center, BE0035, and is open to the public at no charge.

Black History Month Oratorical Competition

The USI Multicultural Center will host its 5th annual Oratorical Competition. The theme for this year’s competition is “Narrating the Resistance,” and its focus is to give voice to the ideas, thoughts, and actions that support and explain the story of the resistance and its meaning in history through the eyes of USI students.

*All appointments for the Romain College of Business Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program are booked. We will update if any openings become available.

USI International Food Expo returns to offer a taste of culture on campus

The USI International Club and Center for International Programs will host the annual International Food Expo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, February 17 in Carter Hall, located in University Center West on campus.

USI Liberal Arts Faculty Colloquia to explore backlash against prosocial ad

The USI College of Liberal Arts will host its second Faculty Colloquia presentation of the Spring Semester featuring Dr. Erin Dennis, Associate Professor of Advertising. The presentation, “On the Razor’s Edge: Exploring Gillette’s ‘We Believe’ Prosocial Advertising Campaign,” will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, February 24 in Kleymeyer Hall, located in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center. The event is open to the public at no charge.

Mandela Social Justice Day keynote to explore values of equity in reproductive health

The USI Nelson Mandela Social Justice Commemoration Committee will host Dr. Rachel Hardeman, reproductive health equity researcher, for the annual Mandela Social Justice Day. The presentation, “Black Reproductive Health: Getting at the Root Cause of Inequity,” will begin at 4:30 p.m. Monday, February 27 in Carter Hall, located in University Center West on campus. The event is open to the public at no charge.

2023 M. Edward Jones Engagement Award now open for nominations

USI Outreach and Engagement is now accepting nominations for the 2023 M. Edward Jones Engagement Award through Friday, February 24. The M. Edward Jones Engagement Award recognizes USI employees, retirees, students, alumni, board members and trustees who profoundly enrich the lives of citizens in the Tri-state region through service, leadership and volunteerism by fulfilling the outreach mission of USI.

USI seeking nominations for the 22nd class of Phenomenal Women and the community

The USI Multicultural Center is proudly accepting nominations through Friday, February 17 for its 22nd class of Phenomenal Women of USI and the Community. Since the program’s establishment in 2001, the University has recognized over 200 Phenomenal Women for their contributions to diversity, both at USI and in the greater Evansville community.
