Southern Indiana Mentoring Academy Recently Received A $50,000 Grant From The Vanderburgh County Commissioners

Southern Indiana Mentoring Academy recently received a $50,000 grant from the Vanderburgh County Commissioners. A ceremonial check was presented by the Commissioners on Saturday, January 7, 2023.Â
“We are proud to be able to partner with the EVSC and numerous local businesses and churches to support their vital work in supporting our community youthâ€, said Commissioner Cheryl Musgrave.Â
Commissioner Ben Shoulders added, “SIMA’s work mentoring local youth has had a tremendous impact on lives.â€Â
“We want to thank Commissioners Musgrave and Shoulders for the wonderful giftâ€, said SIMA President Ted McCreary. “These funds will allow SIMA to continue its’ mission to help at-risk youth in our community.â€Â
SIMA works with underprivileged youth in downtown schools, especially Lincoln School, to empower them to overcome life challenges and maximize their personal potential.Â
The funds are part of the American Recovery Plan monies made available to Vanderburgh County by the federal government.Â
