Commissioner Jeff Hatfields Remarks Concerning The Status Of Vanderburgh County
County Commissioner Jeff Hatfield made some upbuilding remarks concerning the status and future direction of Vanderburgh County at the Rotary Luncheon at the “State of the County” address on 5/17/22.
Commissioner Hatfield discussed the millions of dollars in road paving they have done since 2019 which is the most road project in recent memory.
He’s extremely proud that the County Commission has secured through the employee contracts the largest raises that the Sheriff’s Deputies have received in any given 3-year contract in recent memory.
Commissioner Hatfield is extremely pleased with the ways that members of the Vanderburgh County Commission have worked collaboratively with the City and the Governor during the 2020 COVID crisis.
Hatfield stressed that the County Commission has created the first MBE/WBE program which is proven to be successful.  The Commissioners also revamped the county’s “Employee Harassment Policy.”
Commissioner Hatfield also declared that one of the most exciting and beneficial decisions that members of the Vanderburgh County Commission made in recent times was receiving the financial approval from the Vanderburgh County Council for a $10 million ARP approval to fund a County wide Broadband coverage for the rural areas.
Commissioner Hatfield showed his deep appreciation to members of the Rotary Club by thanking them and the community for allowing him to serve them these last 3 years as a member of the Vanderburgh County Commission.
FOOTNOTE: Earlier this year Commissioner Hatfield announced that he will not be seeking a second term on the Vanderburgh County Commission.
We consider Mr. Hatfield to be a strong  advocate for “Good Public Policy.”
He has demonstrated that he possesses good business judgment and has a strong core of conservative values. Â He is extremely trustworthy and likable. Â Jeff is also a faith-driven public servant.
