Senior threw two no-hitters last weekend
 LOUIS – For the second week in a row and third time this season, University of Evansville pitcher Izzy Vetter was named the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Vetter threw two no-hitters over the weekend while recording three victories for the Purple Aces. In 17 innings of work, Vetter allowed just one earned run while finishing with an ERA of 0.41. She struck out 32 batters while allowing just two hits and six walks. Opposing batters hit just .036 against her.
She opened the week against Oakland University, allowing two hits and an earned run in five innings. She struck out seven batters in the win. From that point on, Vetter was unhittable. Over the final 12 frames of the weekend, she did not give up a single hit. Saturday’s game against Morehead State saw her fan 12 batters and walk just one in five innings while recording her second no-hitter of 2022. Vetter was at her best once again on Sunday, throwing another no-hitter in a 2-0 shutout of Creighton. In seven frames, she fanned 13 batters and walked four.
