EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women’s Tennis (2-1, 0-1 GLVC) went undefeated in their opening season after defeating Brescia University, 7-0, and Georgetown College, 7-0, at the Evansville Tennis Center. The Screaming Eagles are 12-0 in singles matches while posting a perfect 6-0 in doubles matches this spring.
USI vs. Brescia
DOUBLES: Three partners for the Eagles started the sweep on Friday’s match against Brescia. The duo of sophomore Lauren Rowe (Terre Haute, Indiana)/sophomore Rachel McCorkle (Tulsa, Oklahoma) and partners freshman Abby Brown (Evansville, Indiana)/junior Chloe McIsaac (Fairview Heights, Illinois) each powered 6-1 victories over their respected doubles competitors. Freshman Abby Myers (Evansville, Indiana)/senior Kylie Skepnek (Algonquin, Illinois) combination scored a 6-2 win over their doubles opponents.
SINGLES: Six Eagles were crowned victorious in singles competition. Rowe claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win while freshman Madison Windham (Clarksville, Tennessee) and Skepnek each went 6-0, 6-0 in their respective matches. McCorkle tallied a 6-0, 6-3 win while Myers secured a 6-4, 6-4 triumph. McIsaac completed a 6-0, 6-1 victory to round out the singles matches for USI.
