Papandreou posts PR, Grell Schulten top 5 for Eagles at Tiger Paw
LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Sophomore thrower Emily Papandria (Indianapolis, Indiana) posted a personal best in the weight throw, while sophomore sprinter Katelyn Grell (Sterling, Illinois) and freshman jumper Margaret Schulten (Oakland City, Indiana) each posted top five performances as University of Southern Indiana Women’s Track & Field wrapped up competition at the Tiger Paw Classic Friday.
Papandria recorded a mark of 44 feet, 4.50 inches to finish sixth in the event, while Grell and Schulten were each fifth in the 600 and high jump, respectively. Grell finished the 600 in one minute, 52.40 seconds, while Schulten posted a mark of 4’11.00″.
USI returns to action next week when it sends split squads to compete in the Bellarmine Classic Friday in Louisville, Kentucky, as well as the Meyo Invitational next Saturday in South Bend, Indiana.
Kaminski, Crone lead Eagles at Tiger Paw Classic
LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Sophomore thrower Josh Kaminski (Lafayette, Indiana) and sophomore jumper Kyle Crone (Maryville, Illinois) each posted top-five finishes Friday to lead University of Southern Indiana Men’s Track & Field at the Tiger Paw Classic.
Kaminski was second in the shot put with a heave of 47 feet, 5.75 inches, while Crone was fifth in the high jump with a leap of 6’01.25″.
The Screaming Eagles also got a ninth-place showing in the 600 meters out of freshman sprinter/hurdler Trace Manzi (Evansville, Indiana).
USI has one competitor—Silas Winders (Mansfield, Tennessee)—competing Saturday at Indiana Relays in Bloomington, Indiana. The Eagles return to action next week when they send split squads to compete in the Bellarmine Classic Friday in Louisville, Kentucky, as well as the Meyo Invitational next Saturday in South Bend, Indiana.
