On October 21, just before 1:00 a.m., Vanderburgh County Dispatch received a call from a victim stating that he had been shot and was on his way to the hospital. Evansville Police officers located the victim outside in the parking lot of a local hospital and saw that he had a wound in his arm and chest. Officers rendered first aid to the victim, applied a tourniquet to his arm, and helped him get inside to the emergency room. Officers learned that the shooting occurred in the 800 block of E Chandler Ave.Â
Detectives were called to the hospital to speak with the victim. He told detectives that he was sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle which was parked in the 800 block of E. Chandler Ave. He was talking with friends who were standing outside of his car on the passenger side. They were talking to each other through the passenger side window. The victim stated that a female suspect walked up to his vehicle, opened the driver’s side door, struck him in the face, and then shot him. The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Lindsey J. Fields.Â
Fields was located and brought to EPD Headquarters to speak with detectives. Fields was charged with Aggravated Battery and booked into the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center.Â
