A transformational foundation for what’s next, reimagining the future

Evansville, IN – The COVID-19 Crisis Response Fund of the Greater Evansville Region seeks collaborative proposals to reimagine our region’s future. This one-time Request for Proposal (RFP) funding opportunity was created to support nonprofits who are ready to reconceptualize systems, environments, and pathways to a more resilient region. The Fund will award up to $1 million in grants.

Nonprofit organizations serving Vanderburgh, Warrick, Gibson, Spencer, and Posey counties may begin submitting proposals at www.covidresponsefund.com beginning July 1. The application window will close on August 1 at 5 pm CST. The awards for this special RFP will be announced September 1. Proposals must demonstrate collaborative efforts between multiple organizations to be eligible for funding. All collaborations must specify a designated applicant that meets the eligibility requirements to complete the application on behalf of the collaboration. Funding requests for relief, recovery, and restoration efforts through the COVID-19 Crisis Response Fund will continue to be accepted monthly until August 17, 2021. Final disbursements from the Fund will be made on September 1, 2021.

“This is truly an exciting opportunity for our nonprofit community and the people they serve. Our Fund was designed to encourage people to work together – to collaborate – in re-imagining, designing, and implementing innovative ways to propel everyone in our community forward.” said Bob Jones, COVID-19 Crisis Response Fund Executive Committee member.

All RFP applicants should clearly explain how the proposed project will significantly advance restoration efforts, such as initiatives that inform systems change through research, studies, and analysis.

To date, the Fund has focused on relief, recovery, and restoration efforts and has awarded $4.3 million, approving funds for 162 applications. Thanks to a collaborative community effort, the Response Fund has raised more than $6.6 million.Â
