University of Southern Indiana sophomore forward Morgan Beyer was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts in the Screaming Eagles’ victories over Southwest Baptist University and Drury University last weekend at Strassweg Field. The weekly award was the first of Beyer’s career and she becomes the fifth Eagle in program history to earn the league’s offensive honor.
Beyer started the week with a goal and an assist in USI’s 5-0 win over Southwest Baptist Friday night before completing the weekend with a pair of goals in the Eagles’ 4-0 victory over Drury University Sunday. The sophomore forward finished league action for the week with nine points on three goals, two game-winners, and one assist.
For the season, Beyer leads the Eagles with four goals, while tying for the team lead with nine points. She also has one assist this spring.
The Eagles and Beyer resume action this week on the road, visiting Missouri University of Science & Technology Thursday in Rolla, Missouri, and Maryville University Saturday in St. Louis, Missour
