DEMOCRATS: WORKING TO BUILD BACK BETTER
Introducing Our New
Indiana Democratic Party
State Central Committee Leaders
Mike Schmuhl
Indiana State Party Chair
Myla Eldridge
Indiana State Party Vice Chair
Born and raised in South Bend, Mike Schmuhl has spent his career helping to elect Hoosier Democrats. He managed both the mayoral and presidential campaigns of his friend, Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Now, he is ready to put Hoosier Democrats on the path to victory.
Myla Eldridge has been a proponent of Democratic values in Indiana as well. Elected in 2014 and reelected in 2018, she serves as the first Black Clerk in Marion County. Eldridge is dedicated to expanding voting rights, fighting for fair elections, and making sure every Hoosier voice is heard.
Chairman Schmuhl is hitting the ground running with his multi-year strategic plan to break the Republican supermajority in the Statehouse, take back our Congressional power, and build our bench at the local and county level.
Introducing
Our New Indiana 8th District
Democratic Central Committee ChairÂ
Thomasina Marsili
In the last five years, lifelong Hoosier Thomasina Marsili has worked on a number of Democratic campaigns and initiatives across the state of Indiana, including her own run for Indiana 8th District U.S. Congress and a statewide initiative for candidates who are teachers. Along the way, she has created a team-building grassroots effort to support democratic candidates. Thomasina believes that through the hardship of loss, the real foundation of support is revealed, and it is with that belief that she reached out to her network to create Grassroots Indiana Democrats, Inc. GRIDis built as a resource center so that anyone interested in becoming a volunteer, a supporter, campaign staff, campaign manager, or even a candidate themselves have the ability to connect to the resources and people required to become educated in helping elect Democrats.
“Help is Hereâ€
Our new ad to ensure voters hear directly from President Joe Biden is about the immediate impact the American Rescue Plan will have on their lives. We’re running it in top media markets, on local and evening news, on daytime cable networks, and on Sunday shows. It’s rare to go up with an ad like this so early in the cycle, but it’s just so important for us to let voters know about this law — whether we win in 2022 and 2024 could hinge on it.Watch, share, and donate to help us get this in front of every single voter in the United States: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/web-donateSee how the American Rescue Plan helps people like you.
As a culmination to a Red for Ed Week of Action, public school educators and advocates (everyone is invited to attend) from across southwestern Indiana are gathering to let our legislators know that Indiana’s public schools deserve fair and adequate funding. ISTA President Keith Gambill will join several area teachers as featured speakers at the rally.Attendees should wear a mask and observe social distancing.
