University of Southern Indiana senior guard Emma DeHart (Indianapolis, Indiana) and sophomore forward Hannah Haithcock (Washington Courthouse, Ohio) have been named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball teams in a vote by the league’s 15 head coaches.
DeHart was named to the first team, while Haithcock was named second-team All-Conference.
A second-team All-GLVC honoree as a junior last season, DeHart led the Screaming Eagles in 2020-21 with 16.1 points and 3.3 assists per contest. She hit double-figures in the scoring column 13 times this season, reaching the 20-point plateau four times and recording a career-high 39 points in USI’s  96-86 overtime win over Rockhurst University last month in Kansas City, Missouri.
Her 39 points against Rockhurst were the most for a USI Women’s Basketball player since Amie Newhart dropped in 39 points in a triple-overtime game against Indianapolis in January of 2011 and tied for the third-most in program history, only trailing LeAnn Freedland’s historic two-game stretch in which she put up 50 points two-days after scoring 46 in January of 1995.
Haithcock, who earned GLVC All-Freshman team honors a year ago, is collecting All-Conference accolades after averaging 12.0 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per appearance during the regular-season.
This season, Haithcock racked up three double-doubles and reached double-figures in the scoring column 11 times, including a career-high 22 points in USI’s 73-67 home loss to Truman State University in January.
In addition to DeHart and Haithcock, senior center Audrey Turner (Fishers, Indiana) was USI’s recipient of the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award, which goes to 15 student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through ethical behavior. Recipients of this award also must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
USI finished the regular season with an 11-5 record and was the No. 3 seed in this week’s GLVC Tournament before withdrawing due to COVID-19 Return to Play protocol. The Eagles, who are under consideration for an NCAA II Midwest Region Tournament berth, will learn their post-season fate when the NCAA reveals its selections Sunday night on NCAA.com.

Newhart’s 39-point effort came in a one-point loss and Freeland’s 50 and 46-point efforts came in back-to-back losses. Freeland scored 39 points in USI’s 101-71 home win over IPFW in February of 1997.
