On January 25, around 6:15 p.m., officers inside the West Sector Office (police substation) could hear subjects fighting in the 300 block of E. Columbia. The arriving officers found 2 females and 1 male. One of the females and the male had been stabbed and cut with a knife. The male suspect had fled the scene.Â
Apparently, the victims and suspect were all known to each other prior to this incident. The suspect showed up at the victim’s residence, but they refused to allow him to enter. After some words were exchanged, a struggle began between the suspect and victims. During the ensuing struggle, the suspect ended up on top of the female victim. When the male victim went to pull him off, he noticed the suspect had a knife in his hand.
As the struggle continued, both the male and female victims ended up getting cut by the knife. The suspect was also wounded, receiving several stab wounds to his body. The suspect then fled on foot to the north on Lafayette dropping the knife as he fled. He was later found at Lafayette and Maryland.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries and is expected to survive. The victims are expected to survive their injuries as well.Â
Due to the extent of the suspect’s injuries, he is currently in the hospital receiving treatment.Â
