University of Southern Indiana Men’s and Women’s Cross Country return to action Saturday when the Screaming Eagles compete at the Great Lakes Valley Conference East Divisional hosted by University of Illinois-Springfield. The men are set to go off first at 3:00 p.m. CST followed by the women at 3:45 p.m.
The Stakes: Given the unique nature of this season along with limited races, the conference was split into an East and West Division with the top four teams coming out from each division a chance to battle it out for the GLVC Championship come October 24. The seven other teams that are unable to muscle their way to the top four of their respective division races will compete in a ‘B’ race the same day as the GLVC Championships.
The Competition: GLVC East Divisional is a meet comprised of USI, University of Indianapolis, Illinois-Springfield, Lewis University, McKendree University, University of Missouri-St. Louis and Quincy University.
Quick Recap: The men’s team finished second to only the Lewis Flyers led by senior Gavin Prior who crossed over the line fourth overall while the women won thanks in large part to senior Jennifer Comastri taking second overall at the GLVC Triangular in Indianapolis September 25.
