IS IT TRUE when a County only tests about 3% to 4% of their entire population for the deadly COVID-19 virus it’s obvious that they will not have an accurate accounting of how many people in their county are infected with the COVID -19 virus? Â …we are hearing that many American cities are now ramping up to test the masses for the COVID -19 virus? Â …it doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist to figure out that the overall numbers of people that are infected with this virus will increase by leaps and bounds once mass testing begins?
IS IT TRUE that the Vanderburgh County “Covid-19 Resource and Awareness Task Force” Â may be on the verge of having a financial breakthrough?….the”Covid-19 Resource and Awareness Task Force” is compromised of many different community leaders, elected officials, and health care professionals?…that Vanderburgh County Council member, Stephanie Terry, and Vanderburgh County Health Department Manager, Joe Gries, will be requesting a $50,000 grant from the Vanderburgh County Council? Â …if this request passes, the money will be used to fund numerous COVID-19 drive up testing sites all over Vanderburgh County?
IS IT TRUE we would thank the members of the Vanderburgh County “Covid-19 Resource and Awareness Task Force”  Stephanie Terry, Joe Gries, Ben Shoulders, Chris Roe, Cheryl Musgrave, Dr. Roger Johnson, Mariama Wilson, Lynn Herr, Steve Hammer for the outstanding work they are doing in protecting the masses from the deadly COVID -19 virus?
IS IT TRUE we been told that several well-known political types have been talking Jonathan Weaver to bolt the Democratic party and become either an Independent or a Republican? Â …this is a developing story?
IS IT TRUE we are also hearing that a couple of other local Democrats may be considering becoming a political Independent? Â …this also may be a developing story?
IS IT TRUEÂ we been told if any current political office holder knowingly withheld the accurate figures of people infected with the deadly COVID-19 virus they might as well kiss their political career goodbye?
IS IT TRUEÂ according to a political mailer sent out by AG candidate John Westercamp that the Republican candidate for Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita has run for four (4) Government offices in the last four (4) years? Â …we now know why people are calling Todd Rokita a career politician?
IS IT TRUE the stark reality is that newspapers across the country are victims of large investment groups that have cut talent, alienated advertisers, and produced irrelevant biased narratives?…at this rate, there will only be a handful of newspapers still in print in the United States in 10 years?
IS IT TRUEÂ according to MSN that Newspaper publishing is one of only eight U.S. industries that employs less than half as many workers as it did in 2008?
IS IT TRUE right after we announced that the City-County Observer will be publishing a printed Sunday newspaper on September 6, 2020, we have received three (3) advanced commitments from area businesses to sign up for a one-year advertising contract to purchase a one-page color ad?
IS IT TRUE that for more than 17 years this column has served the City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County as the place to go to learn things that are going on in local government that other media is reluctant to cover?…much good has come from things posted in “IS IT TRUE” and the comment section has, for the most part, made the City-County Observer the go-to place for open constructive dialog?
IS IT TRUEÂ all eyes are on the Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau to see if they can convince a new tenant to dock at the now vacant $3 million dollar boat dock that once housed the LST at Marina Point? Â …word in the street is that dock would make a great site for one of the Historial Paddlewheel Steamboat boats to call home?
IS IT TRUE we were told that two key employees of the Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau have abruptly resigned several weeks ago?  …this makes four (4) very talented people that have abruptly resigned from the employment of the  Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau during the last several months?
IS IT TRUE that the Vanderburgh County Republican Party is holding a political caucus on Saturday, June 27th?…. this political caucus was called to select a candidate to run against  District #77 Indiana State Representative Ryan Hatfield (D)?…we hear that the extremely aggressive, well-spoken conservative Rev. Steve Ary is hoping that the caucus Republicans will select him to run against State Representative Ryan Hatfield (D)?  …we also told that Rev Ary may have a person running against him in this weekend Republican caucus?
IS IT TRUEÂ we wonder if you are aware that the taxpayers are paying off an annual bond debt payments for the new downtown medical school ($2.7M) and downtown hotel ($1.26M) without having any ownership position? …we also wonder who are the owners of the hotel and medical school buildings that the taxpayers are paying off the bond notes on?
IS IT TRUE that Pigeon Township Trustee Mariama Wilson, Knight Township Trustee Kathryn Martin, and Perry Township Trustee Rick Riney continues to put people first and are doing an outstanding job as public servants?
IS IT TRUE Its time we take a look at both the Veterans Memorial Coliseum and Mesker Amphitheater and see how we make them once again a major part of our social, cultural, and entertainment offerings?
IS IT TRUE when the people fear the Government we have Tyranny! ….when Government fear the people we have Liberty?

I keep looking for a story about Posey county’s top elected official, the sheriff, switching from the Democrat to Republican Party because of the push by Democrats to stop funding police. I’m not surprised of it’s absence in the C&P, but not in the CCO either? That is surprising.
Does anyone know why the Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau hasn’t posted any of these job vacancies on their website or any job board?! I can understand maybe downsizing during these times but they still will be hiring at least 1 person eventually, no?
It doesn’t seem right that they aren’t focused on retaining locals who know our town and can help promote our region from day 1.
