University of Southern Indiana senior distance runner Austin Nolan (Evansville, Indiana) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® second team in vote by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Nolan, who earned Academic All-America honors a year ago, becomes the third person in program history to earn multiple Academic All-America awards—Johnnie Guy earned three Academic All-America awards from 2014-16 and Tyler Pence won a pair of Academic All-America accolades from 2015-16.

A seven-time Academic All-Conference honoree, Nolan won the 3,000 meters at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in February, marking the sixth conference title in his collegiate career. He was named GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year on the cross country course for the third consecutive season following a fifth-place finish at the GLVC Championships.

Nolan, a two-time GLVC Runner of the Year on the cross country course, captured GLVC Cross Country titles in 2017 and 2018 and finished his career on the grass with three All-Conference honors as well as a pair of All-Region accolades. Nolan still has another year of eligibility on the track, where he has captured league titles in the indoor 3,000 and 5,000 meters as well as the 10,000 meters during the outdoor season.

In the class room, Nolan recorded a 3.928 grade point average and recently graduated magna cum laude with a degree in finance as well as minors in sport management and sport and business studies.
