Taps Berry Plastics CEO to give testimony on a national manufacturing competitiveness plan

(Washington, D.C.) – Representative Larry Bucshon (R-Ind.), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Research and Technology, will hold a hearing on the need for strategic planning for national manufacturing competitiveness on Wednesday July 10th at 2:00pm.

Specifically, the hearing will focus on H.R. 2447, the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act of 2013, legislation that would require the National Science and Technology Council’s Committee on Technology to develop a strategic plan to advance national manufacturing competitiveness every four years.

Bucshon selected Dr. Jonathan Rich, Chairman and CEO of Berry Plastics Corporation– an Evansville, IN based company, to provide comments and recommendations on the development of this national strategic plan.
