“LEFT JAB AND RIGHT JAB”

“Right Jab And Left Jab” was created because we have two commenters that post on a daily basis either in our “IS IT TRUE” or “Readers Forum” columns concerning National or International issues.
Joe Biden and Ronald Reagan’s comments are mostly about issues of national interest.  The majority of our “IS IT TRUE” columns are about local or state issues, so we have decided to give Mr. Biden and Mr. Reagan exclusive access to our newly created “LEFT JAB and RIGHT JAB”  column. They now have this post to exclusively discuss national or world issues that they feel passionate about.
We shall be posting the “LEFT JAB” AND “RIGHT JAB” several times a week.  Oh, “Left Jab” is a liberal view and the “Right Jab is representative of the more conservative views. Also, any reader who would like to react to the written comments of the two gentlemen is free to do so.

  1. Majority of Working Class: High Immigration Driving Up Crime in U.S.

    The majority of working-class Americans say the country’s mass legal and illegal immigration policies are driving up crime in the United States, a new survey finds.

    The latest Gallup survey finds that among Americans with less than a college degree, more than one-in-two, or 51 percent, said immigration to the U.S. has made crime across the country worse. About 41 percent said immigration has not had much impact on crime, and only seven percent said immigration has decreased crime.

    Overall, more Americans say immigration is driving up crime than those who say immigration is decreasing crime. About 42 percent of Americans said immigration makes crime worse, while about 50 percent said immigration has no impact on crime. Only seven percent of Americans believe immigration decreases crime.

    Among political groups, 73 percent of Republicans and 65 percent of conservative voters said immigration is making crime worse in the U.S. Though a majority of swing voters said immigration has no impact on crime, about 35 percent said the country’s policy of admitting about 1.2 million legal immigrants every year is increasing crime.

    The Gallup survey has revealed the increasing divide between the working class’s concerns regarding mass immigration and wealthier, upper-middle-class Americans’ insistence that immigration has no impact on American life.

    For example, working-class and lower-middle-class Americans — those with high school diplomas, less than a high school diploma, or some college credits — are the most likely to say immigration drives up crime, while fewer than three-in-ten college graduates said the same.

      Democrats, media change tune on border: No longer a ‘manufactured crisis’

      Mainstream media and congressional Democrats alike were in lockstep just months ago that the situation along the southern border was a “manufactured crisis” being ginned up by the president for political reasons — but the narrative has swiftly shifted as those same voices now acknowledge the crisis while citing the conditions to attack the Trump administration.

      President Trump highlighted the change in tone in brief remarks to reporters Wednesday afternoon.

      “It wasn’t manufactured at all,” he said.

      It’s a striking contrast between then and now.

      After Trump in January declared a “humanitarian and security crisis” during a primetime Oval Office address, Sen. Chuck Schumer, speaking beside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said Trump was working to “manufacture a crisis, stoke fear and divert attention from the turmoil in his administration.” Party leader Tom Perez also called it “manufactured.”

    …The movie centers around a man named Richard Jewell, a former cop who worked as a security guard during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Jewell discovered a backpack with several pipe bombs at Centennial Olympic Park and alerted police.

    The media, even back then, somehow managed to all but ruin Jewell’s life by eventually painting the hero — who saved thousands of lives by finding the bombs — as a suspect in the attack that ended up killing one and injuring over 100 people, according to The New York Times.

    The media outrage and bad reporting ruined Jewell’s life, as he was later judged by Americans — again thanks to the media — as a terrorist after the reports surrounding the incident were so badly botched.

    Of course, it would later be revealed that the bomber was actually a man by the name of Eric Rudolph and Jewell was totally exonerated. But by the time the media had their way with Jewell’s reputation, the damage had already been done….

    …As Hickenlooper was speaking out against socialism, Bernie Sanders was in an adjacent room defending it, The Hill reporter Jonathan Easley wrote on Twitter.

    “To me, what Democratic socialism is about, is saying health care is a human right. If you work 40 hours a week you should earn a living wage. Education is a human right, and by the way, we’re going to have a tax system that is fair…we are going to ask the wealthiest and large corporations to pay their fair share and start paying taxes,” Sanders said.

    Hickenlooper reportedly has such low name recognition that he wasn’t recognized by staff at the debate that he is set to speak at. When he arrived at the venue in Miami on Wednesday, security asked if he was a reporter looking to pick up his credentials. Hickenlooper had to inform them that he is a candidate.

  7. It’s interesting to watch Mayor Pete of South Bend trying to answer questions about the South Bend police killing an African American. He needs the black vote so bad that he can’t tell the truth, he knows the truth but he can’t bring himself to tell the truth. What’s the truth, the truth is we send out police into unsavory and dangerous places to enforce our Laws, we know these places are dangerous so our LEO’s are armed. Police or not when someone comes at you with a knife with intent known or unknown you use whatever is available to protect yourself, a gun is always the first choice. Don’t come at someone with a weapon and never bring a knife to a fight where someone has gun. The only way to stop this is to disarm the police and stop sending them into dangers way. This logic is beyond what a liberal democrat would ever understand. We don’t allow our police to run in the face of danger except in certain situations, I think here in Evansville a few years an armed police officer allowed an individual to take her patrol car from her and use it as a battering ram. Democrats for some reason seem intent on destroying this country from within.
