State Rep. Holli Sullivan (R-Evansville) will serve as vice chair of the Council of State Governments’ Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development.

Sullivan said BILLD is a leadership training program helping newer Midwestern legislators gain skills to become effective leaders, informed decision-makers and perceptive policy analysts.

“Participating in the BILLD program was incredibly helpful for me in gaining a better understanding of how to be a legislator when I was first elected to state office,” Sullivan said. “I look forward to this opportunity to serve as vice chair of the program, collaborate with lawmakers from across the Midwest and learn about new ideas on how to better represent our area.”

Sullivan, a BILLD alum, has served on the board since 2016.

Each year, 37 lawmakers from the Midwest Legislative Conference attend BILLD’s five-day program focused on leadership training and conflict resolution. The 2019 BILLD program will take place Aug. 9-13 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will include sessions on education, corrections, health care and economic development.
