  1. NHL Team Gives Ultimate Tribute To Law Enforcement, Shows Anthem Kneelers What Respect Looks Like
    …………………………….
Aside from being viewed by many as anti-American and disrespectful of the service members who’ve fought and died for this nation’s freedoms, the protests also are widely seen as being anti-law enforcement, given the initial reasoning for the protests as stated by the first kneeler — former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick ….

As the arena lights dimmed and the “thin blue line” flag was displayed on the ice, the crowd began to cheer wildly.

The voice of the arena announcer intoned, “In 2018, 148 of our nation’s law enforcement heroes gave their lives in the line of duty. It is not how these officers died that made them heroes, it’s how they lived.”

“Please take a moment to honor the service and sacrifice made by Colorado’s fallen heroes,” the announcer said.

A respectful silence fell across the entire arena as the names and “end of watch” dates of four fallen Colorado law enforcement officers were displayed on the massive scoreboard screens hanging above center ice….

  2. “Mueller Investigating Trump Campaign Ties to the NRA

By Steve Straub at The Federalist Papers

CNN has just come up with a blockbuster “inside the Mueller investigation” scoop, that is sure to bring Trump down this time.

According to CNN Mueller is investigating the Trump campaign’s ties to the NRA.

Can you believe it? Who could have ever suspected a pro-gun Republican candidate might have ties to the NRA?”

    https://rightwingtribune.com/2019/01/23/mueller-is-investigating/

    • Nothing illegal about that!!

Wait. The NRA is apparently taking huge sums of $ from Russia. Russia is an ENEMY STATE of the U.S.

Mueller is being a STRONG LAW AND ORDER AMERICAN, which we all love, and investigating that.

Try not to lie. Will ya?

      • Libels of and threats to Covington Kids will face Kentucky justice
        …….
The ongoing campaign of hate against children from Kentucky guilty of being Catholic, being (mostly) white, and wearing MAGA caps will not end until there are legal consequences. Fortunately, the wheels of justice already are turning in Kentucky, albeit at a pace that is frustrating to those who operate at internet speed. But the prospect of Kentuckian jurors judging those who libel or threaten their children is delightful. There are two separate avenues available, and both are being explored by people ready and willing to act….

“There is. It’s called ‘terroristic threatening’ in Kentucky and it is a felony offense punishable by 1 to 5 years in prison to make a threat of violence to an educational institution, so everyone who makes a specific threat.”…

The other avenue for legal redress is libel suits. Robert Barnes, who reads, tweets about, and occasionally writes for these pages, has stepped up with an offer of free legal representation for libel lawsuits on behalf of the children and already apparently is representing some of them. He has been warning prominent people – such as Rep. Ilhan Omar and New York Times writer Maggie Haberman – to repudiate and apologize for their libels or face a lawsuit.

I do hope these lawsuits are brought in Kentucky. It is a state often dumped on as backward, full of hillbillies and moonshiners. It is also a place with a distinctive local culture and much well deserved pride in is world pre-eminence in thoroughbred horse-breeding and bourbon. I suspect that Kentucky jurors would not take kindly to threats and libels aimed at the children of their state.

  3. Does anyone know if the City has foreclosed its sewer leens on the McCurdy apartments?

    • Heard they’re using the water to make beer in the new microbrewery located in the McCurdy instead of dumping it into the sewers…

  4. Poor Joe, the Trump ship is sinking FAST!

“This is pretty notable from the new PPP poll: Only 40 percent of voters approve of Trump’s job performance, while 46 percent support impeaching him (which is also more than the 44 percent who oppose impeachment)

Also, remember the gusher of cash Republicans poured into ads demonizing Nancy Pelosi in the midterms? PPP writes that voters say they’d prefer to have either Chuck Schumer (46-41) or Nancy Pelosi (47-44) over Trump as President

Stunning. Democrats barely even mentioned Trump in the midterms, they just let him sink himself, and he has had phenomenal success doing so

The shutdown situation is not doing anything to help Trump’s cause. Only 35% of voters agree with Trump that the government should be kept closed until he gets funding for the wall to 60% who disagree. 57% think Congress should vote today to reopen the government without funding the wall, to 38% who are opposed. 55% of voters pin the blame for the shutdown on Trump and the Republicans in Congress

As the Russia investigation heats up, 45% of voters think Trump has committed crimes since he began running for President. And if the Mueller investigation does find that Trump committed a crime 61% think he should be indicted and prosecuted in the courts. Already there is 46% support for impeachment

Trump promised to ‘Make America Great Again.’ Just 38% of voters think he has delivered on that promise to 55% who say he has not

55% of voters still want to see Trump’s tax returns, to 38% who don’t think he needs to release them. 35% think Trump is honest, 55% say he is not.

Finally, we asked voters to put Trump’s Presidency so far in historical context. 44% say Trump is the worst President of the last 40 years. Obama wins when it comes to who voters say is the best President of the last 40 years, followed by Ronald Reagan. 53% of voters wish Obama was still President. And 49% of voters wish Hillary Clinton was President instead, to 43% for Trump

According to FiveThirtyEight’s aggregate of polls, Trump’s favorables continue to sink with him, nearing some of the lowest approvals and highest disapprovals of his presidency”

  5. Who’s To Blame For Shutdown? Three New Polls Have Answers: Trump, Trump, And Trump

There are a few new polls Senate Republicans might want to check out before they decide how to vote on the bill to reopen the government until Feb. 8. They are not in a position of strength on this one, at least when it comes to popular support

A CBS News poll finds that 66 percent of Americans think Trump should agree to a budget without funding for his border wall. Almost even sweeter, 47 percent of people said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is doing a better job handling shutdown negotiations to just 35 percent who said Trump, Mr. Art of the Deal himself, is doing a better job

A Politico/Morning Consult poll, meanwhile, found that 54 percent of people blame Trump and Republicans for the shutdown. A third poll, from Public Policy Polling, found similar numbers: 55 percent blamed Trump and Republicans

This is not a side issue, either. The CBS News poll found that 60 percent of people feel the shutdown is causing the country serious problems. On Thursday, Senate Republicans have a choice of which side to take here
