COATES FOUND GUILTY OF CRIMINAL CONFINEMENT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON

March 19, 2013, Justin Deon Coates, age 28, was found guilty in Vanderburgh County Superior Court of Three Counts Criminal Confinement While Armed with a Deadly Weapon, Handgun – Class B Felonies and Obstruction of Justice – a Class D Felony stemming from a three hour standoff with the Evansville Police and Swat Team that ended peacefully on May 15, 2011. Coates faces 6-20 years on each B Felony Counts and 6 months-3 years on the D Felony. Judge Robert Pigman will sentence Coates on April 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
