HILLSDALE, Mich. – The University of Southern Indiana Men’s and Women’s Track & Field teams competed in the Hillsdale “Gina” Relays Thursday through Saturday in Hillsdale, Michigan.
Junior Kate Henrickson (Boonville, Indiana) was the top performer for the Screaming Eagles, winning the 3000-meter steeplechase open ahead of senior Kate Duty (Owensboro, Kentucky). Henrickson won the event in 11 minutes, 14.11 seconds, while Duty took second in 11:30.74.
In the 5000-meter open, freshman Jennifer Comastri (Indianapolis, Indiana) led a group of Eagles with a fourth place finish in 17:18.04.
On the men’s side, freshman Madison King (Avon, Indiana) collected USI’s only top-10 finish with a 10thplace effort in the 800-meter open in 1:56.61. Sophomore Darius Payne (Louisville, Kentucky) was 20th in 1:58.47.
Sophomore Darin Lawrence (Indianapolis, Indiana) paced three Eagles in the 10,000-meter open, placing 12th in 32:58.19.
USI will next compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Championships May 4-6 in Romeoville, Illinois.
