Discussion Issue of the Week:
“D†rating for Hoosier women reflective of GOP Statehouse priorities
- It’s not easy to admit, but Indiana is failing working women and families.
- The gender pay gap is widening in Indiana, one of just a handful of states where that’s occurring. That gap costs women and families hundreds of thousands of dollars over their career. This is an economic issue.
- Indiana has the 4th highest cost of child care in the nation. Have we done anything to combat that? If paid leave is an innovative idea for state employees, isn’t it for private sector employees, as well?
- The point is, there were bills to address these issues in the Legislature this year and Republicans blocked all of them. If you care about something, if it’s important, you act. Actions matter.
