Applications are now open for eligible families in Vanderburgh County who are looking to enroll their 4-year-old in pre-K this fall. High-quality, early education has been shown to help close an achievement gap of up to 18 months that is often seen in students who do not attend pre-K or similar early learning programs.
On My Way Pre-K is Indiana’s early learning pilot program, which was established in 2014. It provides low-income, at-risk 4-year-olds with high-quality pre-K opportunities. Last year, I supported a law expanding the original program from five counties to 20.
By providing young Hoosier children with more, early education opportunities, we can jumpstart their academic careers and set them on a path for a successful future.
