The Indiana University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams continue to rack up the awards, as four Hoosiers garnered weekly honors from the Big Ten on Wednesday, the conference office announced.

Lilly King was named Big Ten Women’s Swimmer of the Week for the fourth time this year, while Jessica Parratto earned Big Ten Women’s Diver of the week for the fourth time as well. Michael Hixon was named the league’s Big Ten Men’s Diver of the Week, while Gabriel Fantoni was named Big Ten Men’s Freshman of the Week for the second-straight week.

On the year, the Hoosiers have combined to win 20 weekly Big Ten awards, four more than Michigan (16) and 12 more than Iowa (8). Both teams have won 10 honors each so far this season.

King was impressive for the No. 7-ranked Hoosiers on Saturday, helping the IU women take down rival Purdue, 176-123. The junior won three individual events with NCAA B cuts – 100 breaststroke (1:01.36), 200 breaststroke (2:10.61) and the 200 IM (2:01.29). King also was on the winning 200 medley relay that touched the wall in a time of 1:38.57.

Parratto had a great showing for the Hoosiers, winning both the 1-meter dive and the platform dive. The redshirt junior set the Indiana dual-meet record with her personal-best and NCAA Zones qualifying score in the 1-meter of 345.45. On the platform, Parratto took first with a Zones qualifying total of 350.33.

Hixon and Fantoni were key for the No. 3-ranked Hoosier men against Purdue on Saturday, helping the team notch the program’s 21st-straight dual-meet victory, 206-92.

On Senior Day, Hixon made the most of his final meet in Bloomington, winning the 1-meter dive with an Indiana dual-meet record score of 453.90. The redshirt senior’s total is a NCAA Zones qualifying score.

In the pool, Fantoni continues to impress, recording his second-straight Freshman of the Week accolade. The Belo Horizonte, Brazil native won the 100 backstroke with a great time of 46.86 and also touched first in the 200 back, winning in 1:44.91. Both times are NCAA B cuts. The rookie was also on IU’s winning 200 medley relay (1:27.54) against the Boilermakers.

The No. 3/7 Indiana Hoosiers will return to the pool on Friday, Jan. 26, when the team heads south to face the No. 14/8 Louisville Cardinals in Louisville, Ky. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. ET.
