Former Evansville Otter pitcher Chris Nunn has been selected by the Houston Astros in the Triple-A phase of major league baseball’s Rule 5 draft.
Nunn, 27, started one game for the Otters this year before the Chicago Cubs purchased his contract in August. A graduate of Lipscomb University, Nunn started four games for the Cubs’ AA affiliate in Knoxville after leaving Evansville.
A 24th round choice of the San Diego Padres in the 2012 major league draft, Nunn, a lefthander, will be placed on Houston’s Triple-A reserve list.
