  1. Does this notice now mean that we can include our yard waste (excluding leaves) in our regular garbage??? I thought garbage was supposed to be separate from yard waste–that’s why the yard waste has been picked up on Fridays, separately from the garbage. And wasn’t all yard waste–including leaves–supposed to be relegated to a separate composting landfill to extend the life of the garbage pit? What changed, and when?

And what’s this malarkey about paper or “biodegradable plastic bags” for leaves in the fall? If the leaves are going to be ground up for daily cover of the garbage in the landfill, why can’t the bags simply be ground up with them? The bag shreds will simply be covered with garbage and more leaves in the landfill the next day anyway, and the final cover or cap should be dirt.

Methinks the solid waste disposal scheme needs more thinking and explaining. If special bags are required, then the residents should not be required to pay extra for them. How ’bout if we’re supplied at no charge with separate, color-coded, 96-gallon yard waste/leaf containers??

  2. Yard Waste shall Co-Mingle with your regular trash. You do not need to purchase/secure seperate container(s) for your yard waste.
